CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Business Integrity

We provide high quality products and services supported by fast and efficient after-sales care, whilst giving proper consideration to the effect both our own and our suppliers’ operations have on the environment.

Environmental Sustainability

We take environmental responsibility seriously and work continuously to minimize our impact on the environment. We implement best practices that reflect our environmental and sustainability concerns. Environmental integrity is fundamentally important to Brown Girls Climb and our partners – who are required to demonstrate their own commitment and continual improvement programs.

Care for the environment is one of our key responsibilities and an important part of the way in which we do business. To this end we have established an environmental policy available to all parties through our internet and on display in our offices. We review & develop our management processes to ensure that environmental factors are considered during planning and implementation. We aim to shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy, This means approaching production and consumption cycles holistically and waste-free.

Respect for People

We maintain a working environment that is safe and conducive to staff performing their duties effectively, whilst respecting their richly individual and creative characteristics. Furthermore, we create a working environment free of discrimination and are committed to equal opportunities for all.

Respect for Society

We actively engage in activities that contribute to society and the development of culture. We take our social responsibilities seriously and strive to make a positive impact upon the communities in which we and our customers live, work, and operate.

Corporate Governance

We aim to be ambassadors of good practice and set new standards of business conduct. We commit to redressing past harms and creating new relationships of power for the future through reparations. We aim to be a good employer expanding our business and developing our staff to meet the needs of our community. All groups and individuals with whom we have a business relationship will be treated in a fair, open and respectful manner. We encourage our community members, corporate partners, and vendors to give feedback on our performance and ensure that all comments are analyzed, responded to and where appropriate, acted upon.

Equity & Diversity

We eliminate discrimination on any grounds and promote equality of opportunity throughout our organisation. Our range of services will take account of the needs of a diverse customer base. We have zero tolerance for intentional and direct remarks or acts of racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, ableism, transphobia, and other derogatory statements or actions. Participants may be asked to leave if any violations are reported. Unintentional remarks and acts will be addressed on a case by case basis.

Human Trafficking and Slavery

We are committed to a work environment that is free from human trafficking, forced labour and unlawful child labour (“human trafficking and slavery”). We will not knowingly use unlawful child labour or forced labour in any of the products and/or services we provide, nor will we accept products and/or services from vendors/suppliers that employ or use child labour or forced labour.

Ethics and Ethical Trading

We will ensure clear visibility through our supply chains. We will ensure that contractors uphold our standards and behaviours consistent with Brown Girls Climb requirements.

Vendors

We will use local vendors and contractors wherever possible taking into consideration their environmental performance and policies. Where possible vendors will be encouraged to help us achieve our policy aspirations in the delivery of our products and services. We will continue to work with vendors to reduce the amount of packaging and waste materials where possible.
